3. How to prepare the hard drive.
You will start the installation of the operating system proceeds as if the disk is for the first time in use, and no other information is on him.
The first step will be the process of partitioning and formatting the hard drive. In this way the disk will accept the file system, after this the directory structure will be provided and the user’s operating system, application, configuration, and data files will be organized
The entire hard drive will be considered by Windows 7 operating systems like a default partition at the beginning. But you can create custom partitions using the new option. If you didn’t make this selection, the system formats the default partition and begins installing Windows. If you choose to create your own partitions, the process is the same as Windows XP, but Windows 7 has a unique formatted partition, which is New Technology File System (NTFS.) with more file system security features and extended attributes.
4. Using default settings.
With the installation wizard you can choose to install Windows 7 using typical (default) settings or custom settings. Is better to select the typical settings, because this decision will give a better rate of a successful installation. But you must still give to the wizard the following information during the setup:
·         Standards and formats that define currency and numerals
·         Text input language
·         Name of the user and company
·         Product key
·         Computer name
·         Administrator password
·         Date and time settings
·         Network settings
·         Domain or workgroup information
Three options will appear when a computer boots using the Windows 7 installation disc:
Upgrade – Upgrades Windows but keeps your current files, settings, and programs.
Custom (advanced) – Installs a clean copy of Windows in your choice of location and allows you to change disks and partitions.
Quit – Exits Setup.
The Upgrade option will be disabled if a current operating system is not found.
5. Complete the installation.
Once all of the operating system files are copied to the hard drive, you must reboot the computer if you have a legal copy of the operating system and a connection to the Internet, you are enabling to download patches and service packs.
To do this you must access Windows Update: Start > All Programs > Windows Update
You must be sure that all hardware is installed correctly. For this Device Manager is the solution to locate problems and to install the correct or updated driver’s .Use the following path to access the Device Manager:
Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Device Manger
